Every field refers to the “A/B test” concept differently, because every field tests in a unique way. Whatever the product/service/marketing plan/business model may be, we are always too focused on each one separately.
By examining only one perspective of the A/B test each time for every aspect individually, will hurt all aspects that make up your product/service/marketing/business model, as a whole.
Here we will offer a holistic approach of growth that takes into account all aspects and tests them all together, because at the end of the day, marketing, product, and finance are all vital.
Our recommendations are based on Sean Ellis’s “Growth Hacking” (a masterpiece!) as well as my own experiences as an entrepreneur.
So, let’s get to it!
All for one, one for all!
An experienced dedicated growth team will be needed to identify/ideate, prioritize, test, and analyze each thought your company has. The growth team will consist of members from Product, Sales, Customer/User Acquisition (Marketing), activation, retention, and monetization departments of the company, and will be led by a dedicated team leader. All stages and levels of growth in a company should be covered by this elite team.
The actual process has its own unique methodology which leads us to…
From MVT (Minimal Viable Test) to execution of a new growth strategy to your ongoing activity!
Since the entire process is a topic unto itself, I will break it down into its basic elements:
6. Let’s test it out!
Using (A/B) Minimal viable tests, that will run through and will examine your thesis on a real-world
exploration, while focusing on a few ground rules first: a. Identical groups; b. same timeframe, but
appropriate differentiation. c. A minimum benchmark should be set for the group to test (to avoid
statistical errors). d. Different testing environments should be created to avoid mixing up data.
7. Analyze and learn 🙂
You are basically in the final step before you execute the selected outcome upon your entire activity!
8. Implement carefully while keeping the frame on the most successful thesis > RUN with it!
Conclusion:
Using growth hacking while A/B testing your activity requires a lot of work from your team, it’s hard, and can even be exhausting at times! From my experience, we have found that setting up the routine correctly while exploring the right initiatives can lead to scale up & outperformance on every level of your business, regardless of the stage it may be in.
